My name is Lisa De Norris. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Converse College, and I have been teaching private piano lessons to ages K5 through senior adults for 41 years. My passion for teaching runs deep, so I genuinely love my career! I follow the philosophy, "Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime", which inspires me to use every minute of the lesson wisely, while still building a strong personal rapport with each student!

My students are known to have strong foundations of every aspect of music and to progress quickly, although I am very patient with students who need to progress at a more relaxed pace. I have written exclusive, very concise theory material and teach it in 6 group classes per year to supplement weekly private lessons. I use creative fun incentives and awards, such as stickers, charts, candy, weekly board, prizes, a Christmas contest, a Christmas party/recital, and a Spring Recital/Awards Ceremony. I offer participation in the National Federation of Music Clubs and the Music Teacher's National Association, from which many of my students have been selected to be representatives in State Honors Recitals. I prefer face-to-face lessons held in my home, but I can accommodate online lessons.

My husband of 39 years is also a music graduate and has been ministering in church music our entire marriage. I have worked alongside him in the following areas: church pianist, choir member, soloist, ensemble member, children's drama director, choreographer, and handbell player, among others. We have five adult children, whom I homeschooled (the bulk of the years) and taught piano. We have our sixth grandchild on the way, and I hope to teach some of them in the future.
